A ministry of Ave Maria Catholic Church - Parker Colorado
Hands of Hope is a ministry of Ave Maria Catholic Church in Parker, Colorado. We are a charitable ministry that works with the poorest of the poor in Juarez, Mexico and Pine Ridge, South Dakota to help make quality of life a little better.
In 2001 Hands of Hope connected with Southern Exposure from Spirit of Christ Catholic Church in Arvada, Colorado and made our first trip to Juarez, Mexico to build a home for a poor family, We have continued that tradition until 2010 during that time frame we built fourteen (14) homes for the poor. Since 2010 when the violence in Juarez became a safety concern we looked else where to help others in need.
"Hands Of Hope" which in Spanish is "Manos De Esperanza".
It was then that we made a connection with One Nation Walking Together located in Colorado Springs, Colorado who directed us to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in Pine Ridge, South Dakota.
In 2011 a select few made six different trips to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation mainly to see what actions we could do to carry our our ministry and at the same time make an impact on the lives of some families on the reservation. As we found out in Juarez this also was a very rewarding and challanging adventure.
"Hands Of Hope" which in Lakota Sioux is "Nape Wcozani"
This really means Hands of Strength but fits our ministry also.
All the members that have participated in either the Juarez or Pine Ridge projects have been just overwhelmed with the feeling of satisfaction to know that through the hand of God we have helped make quality of life a little more enjoyable.
Hands of Hope is able to do the work we do for the poor throught donations from individuals, Companies and other charitable organizations.
